'BREATHING' a minute please

I would like to share this article which i read from The Times of India.

Excerpts from the High Value ‘Breath Taking’ article.

Teachings of His Holiness Sri Sri Ravishankar Founder ‘The Art of Living’

Health is having a disease free body, a quiver free breath,

a stress free mind, an inhibition free intellect,

an obsession free memory, an ego that includes all

and a soul that is free from sorrow.

The holistic approach of well being includes exercise, breathing and meditation.

Breath is synonymous to Life. Our Life is our Breath, our breath is our life.

Breathing is the first act of life and it’s the last act of life.

In between, the entire life we are breathing in and out, but not attending to the breath.

Have you ever counted how many times you breathe in a minute?

In one minute we breathe nearly 16 to 17 times.

If you are upset it may go up to 20 and

When you are angry and tense it could go to 25.

It is 10 per minute when you are calm and happy,

2 to 3 if you are in meditation.

We are using only 30% of our lung capacity.

The mind is like a kite and the breath, a thread.

For the mind to go high the breath needs to be longer.

Your Breath gives enormous energy.

Smile more in life. Don’t take things too seriously.

Nice post. I had been to this Sri Sri Ravishankar's "SudhersunKriya" program for about a week. I would mandate this exercise to guys living with veezing/Asthma.

Also one of facet of breathing :"The only PHYSICAL activity that reacts informally, when there is deflexion in your mental or vital faculties".

Happy EUPNEA !!!!
